The operation principle of resonance method is based on an analysis of the probe's own vibrations (1-10 MHz) and vibrations of a test objectas a responce to external impact (oscillatory system response).

Resonance transducers are used with ultrasonic flaw detectors such as Tomographic UD4-TM and others for the purpose of nondestructive product quality control. The main field of application is aviation tocheck for corrosion destruction, poor-qualitygluing, and delaminations inside composite materials. A positive property of resonant transducers is the acquisition and amplification of very weak vibrations.
