Optical coordinate device OS-270 is used to determine a probe position at the axial workpiece end while testing methods of rough and finishing railway axles in accordance with RD 32.144-2000 and RMI 230-015-87. The use of scanner OS-270 allows, along with measuring the defect depth to define the defect position relative to the workpiece center, and also provides the probe movement control.
