FEATURES USK-5T

USK-5T

Scanning device USK-5T, USK-5ТМ complete with tomographic flaw detector UD4-TM is intended for ultrasonic inspection of solid-rolled wheels of wheelset in accordance with the requirements of:

1. PR NK V. 2 "Rules of nondestructive testing of details and components of wheel pairs of cars at repair. Special requirements" approved by the 59 session of the Council for rail transport of the SIS countries (Memorandum dated November 19-20, 2013 № 59) with the alternations and additions approved by the meeting of the Council for rail transport of the SIS countries (Memorandum from November 4-5, 2015 No. 63, p. 7), and T. V. 21 NC-1, developed on the basis of PR NK V. 2 (Annex tomographic 2.8);

2. STO FPC 11.001-2011 "System non-destructive inspection in JSC "FPC". Passenger car wheel set elements of 1520 mm track. Requirements for ultrasonic testing" (Appendix Tomographic 2.4).

Ultrasonic testing of solid-rolled wheels with scanning device USK-5T, USK-5TM provides testing of required areas in one turn enabling tomography and defective area coordinate determination. Due to the built-in multi-channel system, ultrasonic transducers work simultaneously.

During the inspection A-scan of the current zone displays on the flaw detector screen, while all the probes included in USK-5T, USK-5TM are operating. Data on all the probes involved in testing (probe tracing on the test piece) are displayed on a C-scan.

Detectable defects:

type 511 (longitudinal cracks, shells, slivers, delamination, and non-metallic inclusions in a rim);

type 513 (transverse cracks on a rim running surface);

type 517 (cracked flange);

type 411 (cracks in the disc near a wheel rim).

USK-5T can only operate in conjunction with a flaw detector UD4-T (UD4-TM)

USK-5TM is equipped with an additional switch control zones, can operate in multi-channel mode with flaw detector UD4-T (UD4-TM) or connect to any ultrasonic flaw detector in single-channel mode.
