ROBOSCOP VTM-5000/SFERA

The complex is designed for pre-operational and operational inspection:

  • the base metalof the upper block cover around the nozzles (in the area of 240 mm diameter around weld joint of nozzles of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system with internal overlaying welding of the cover - ultrasonic testing);
  • weld joints of nozzles of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system with internal overlaying welding of the top unit cover is technically possible (ultrasonic testing);
  • overlaying welding at the lower ends of the nozzles of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system for delamination from the base metal of the pipes in a technically possible volume (ultrasonic control);
  • sealing surfaces overlaying welding of nozzles of  protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system for delamination from the nozzle base metal (ultrasonic testing);
  • nozzle sleeves of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system along the entire length (eddy current testing);
  • weld joints of nozzles ofprotection control system and protection of in-reactor monitoring system with the upper unit coverinner overlaying welding (TV control);
  • welded joints of nozzle sleeves of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system with overlaying weldingon the nozzles (TV control);
  • the inner surfaces of the shirts of the pipes (TV control);
  • internaloverlaying welding of upper unit cover (including a cover flange - the TV control) to the technically possible extent.

The purpose of development is:

  • ensuring reliable and safe operation of NPP (VVER-1200) by development of tools and methods for the nozzle metal inspection of protection control system and in-reactor monitoring system of reactor unit using phased array technology;
  • reducing the time required for maintenance and repair by improving the performance of metal inspection using a developed automated system;
  • minimization of radiation exposureto the personnel managing the metaltesting.
