“STALKER-MD10” is intended to measure thickness, detect cracks, discontinuities and other defects of steel pipes, tanks, gas holders. The wireless scanning device “STALKER-MD10” can be moved far and wide on the moving line, on the welds. It can be also moved in any directions on these objects. The movement depends on the operator’s actions. The movement of the scanning device system ”STALKER-MD10” is remotely controlled by the operator from the panel. It allows to control movement of the object at a distance up to 50m. The scanning device is equipped with a video camera, which transfers the image of the current testing area via the separate radio channel. The camera is intended to select the necessary movement trajectory and to visually estimate the states of the testing area. The automated system STALKER-MD10 consists of two parts: - Scanning device that looks like a carriage with clip-on cassettes of: EMAT (electromagnetic acoustic) and/or eddy current probes and signal processing hardware,
- Notebook PC, having the special software for setting of the acoustic path parameters, receiving and visualization of received information, saving and documenting of testing results.
The commands of acoustic path parameters are set and the data and testing results are transferred via the wire and wireless radio channel. The processing of testing data (processing of acoustograms received during the system passage) happens in a real time mode according to the preset algorithm. The carriage can be used as a remote NDT unit that allows the operator to carry out testing , under more comfortable conditions, far from the working mechanisms and hostile environment. The special PC software is used to set the acoustic path parameters, receive and visualize the received information, save and document testing results. The operator can set up the testing zones and classify the defects in compliance with the normative requirements. He can also set up the variant of final protocol: general variant with indication of colored defect zones detailed variant with indication of the defect type and sizes. The carriage can be also stopped if a defect is detected (alarm is activated). The above possibilities increase the reliability of testing and facilitate the decipherment of received information. - Setting of the acoustic path parameters;

NAVIGATION POSSIBILITIES : - Possibility to stop a carriage if a defect is detected (alarm is activated);

| | APPLIED NDT TECHNIQUES : As appropriate for the complex estimation of the defect parameters the system provides integration of several NDT techniques under using of combined sets of probes. Depending on the task, testing conditions (testing object parameters), the non-contact straight EMAT probe E411-2,5-K12 and the surface-wave EMAT probe E411-1,0-90 can be applied, which do not require the processing of testing object surface (operating clearance of 0.5-1,5mm). Eddy current probes VTP-3 are used as well. So, there is a possibility to quickly decide possibly further operated (по параметрам степени опасности - with regard to the danger level parameters – the speed of development of the detected defect). | - Self-sufficiency;
